Hold a Taboo Tea

Taboo Tea is a new initiative by Yasminah's Gift Of Hope in support of October 15 Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day. This year we would like to encourage you to break the silence on the 'taboo' subject, stir the pot and raise your voices to talk to family, friends, work colleagues about pregnancy and infant loss.

To help you hold your afternoon tea, YGOH has put together an afternoon tea awareness pack including an assortment of tea, coffee, a cake mix, an awareness mug and a candle to light in honour of all the babies who left too soon. We also include a list of discussion topics and the facts about pregnancy and infant loss.

If you are interested in holding a Taboo Tea Event, we will be providing an Afternoon Awareness Kit to the first 10 people to respond via email to contact@ygoh.org.au

Please ensure to provide your full name, address and the estimated number of people attending. It's up to you where to hold your 'Taboo Tea'. You might like to hold it at home with friends, family or invite your mother's group. The workplace, school or university are some other fantastic places you can help break the taboo and raise awareness.

As a participant in Taboo Tea we would very much appreciate if you could post something about your event on Yasminah’s Gift Of Hope Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/yasminahsgiftofhope. You could include photos, feedback or images of your lit candle. We encourage you to light your candle at 7pm on October 15, along with thousands of other people worldwide for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance day.

Throughout the month of October, we would also like to encourage people to share their own loss experience. By reflecting on your experience through our page you will be helping us raise the importance of awareness and support within the community about miscarriage, premature birth, neonatal loss, stillbirth and infancy loss. We have a very special Yasminah’s Gift Of Hope supporters pack, for the first 5 people to respond.

Thank you for helping break the silence and speak about Pregnancy and Infant Loss.
